Build a Sketch Challenge

Did you like that first Challenge? It was fun wasn't it. Now that you know what Pinterest can do for you, here is another Challenge.

I want you to Build your own Sketch. We see lots of sketch challenges out there but have you seen any challenges to build your own sketch? That's what this challenge is all about.
Here is what you will need:
1 card base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
1 top layer  5 1/4 x 4
1 scalloped border  1/2 x 5 1/2
1 Scalloped square  1 3/4 or 2 1/4
1 die cut shape  such as the Nestabilities labels  size = 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 or close to this size

Use one of each piece

Take these five pieces and build a card.
                            OR
If you would like to make something other than a card, such as a scrapbook page, use all the pieces proportionally to your page. The base would be the size you want your page, top layer would be rectangular. For a 12 x 12 it could be 10 x 11 or  11 1/2 x 11. The rest of the pieces need to be in proportion to the page.

Remember, you can embellish it to your heart's content, but you must use these five pieces in the sizes specified. No substitutions please.

Have fun with it.

Once you have finished your project, link it up below. It will then be entered into a random drawing for the stamp set below.
Isn't that a cute stamp set? Would you like to have it? Well, it could be yours if you are the lucky winner. All you have to do to win it is to enter our Build a Sketch challenge, but make sure all five pieces in the specified sizes are on your project.. Winner will be chosen by random drawing.

Here are examples of what you can do with the pieces.

  1. Great challenge, as I don't usually work off of sketches! The inspiration cards are awesome!

  2. Added my scrapbook page. I followed the "non-sketch" pretty close but it was hard to get the proportions right - Math is not my strong suit.

  3. My sketch is a Bicycle Card is made from leftover "bitts & pieces" and I got as close to the dimentions as I could. The scalloped square is the transparent blue piece on top of the pattern paper.

  4. My Build A Sketch2 card for my Butterfly Card are exactly right on the proportions. I liked the blending of these colors.

  5. My first Build A Sketch card, the Bicycle card, was somewhat close to proporations as I wanted to put the the scalloped border on the right-hand edge. I had to make some adjustments in the proportions to make this work.
