"I Hear Singing and There's No one There..."

My idea is that there is music in the air, music all around us; the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require. ~Edward Elgar

Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd
So saying, this week’s challenge on Your Scrapbook Place is to make a new project that is inspired by music---use the title or lyrics from your favorite song, let an old (or new) musical be your muse, or check out your iPod for inspiration.  My Blog's Playlist includes the song Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which is what inspired me to color this Sugar Nellie image and make the card on the right.  I adhered my image with dimensional dots and she really does look like she's floating in a semi-psychedelic world of roses!

Daughter's Violin Concert
Or maybe it’s time you scrapped your child’s violin concert, or the Kindergarten Christmas program, or the time you took your daughter to see Mama Mia or Wicked!!  What great memeories those events were--now put them down on paper.  Scrap, journal and embellish.  Don't forget to play the movie's songs while you create!!
Let the music fill your soul and your craft room. Crank up that iPod and let’s hear what you’re listening to in your cards and layouts and altered art.  To the right, I used an ATC to make a mini card for journaling on my page. The patterned apper was more white than any color, so I distressed it with a brown ink and distressing pad.

Paper Moon movie theme song

Sometimes it's just the movie's theme song that will inspire you to make a card or altered art.  Remember the movie Paper Moon?  Ryan O'neal and his daughter Tatum O'neal played the leads, with little Tatum stealing the spotlight.  Loved the black and white filming and that old-fashioned theme song.  So, why not make a card to remember it by?  Here's my take on the right, usinmg Squigglefly's Moon Fairy digi image.  I printed once on sparkly white cardstock, and another time on plain white cardstock, then colored both my fairies, cutting out and adding the second one with dimensional dots.  I used Stickles to give her wings and wand some glitz.  I believe the sentiment is from SU.

Child of Nature by the Beatles
Donna Clark, DT
Here is a project from design team member Donna Clark to get you moving to the "Rhythm of Love", laughter and life!  No time to talk on the "Telephone" unless you're planning out your next project with a fellow crafter, since "That's What Friends Are For".  Instead of  "I'm Blue", you'll be crying out "Mama Mia!" with all the lovely cards and layouts offered here, making you feel all "Bubbly" with inspiration.  (okay, okay, I know when to stop!)
I do love the embossed, overlarge photo corners she used on her page, don't you?  It gives me ideas outside my photo corner box!!  Doesn't she frame her layout well with paint along the edges of her page?

Now for the best part.  Show us YOUR music-inspired projects.  You can link up to three different projects to this challenge. In fact, if we reach twenty or more entries, the prize will be a $10 iTunes gift card!! Less than twenty players means a random winner will get something very nice from our supply of sweet surprises.

Remember, “He who sings scares away his woes.” ~Cervantes.
So say BOO to those woes and craft to your heart's content!!
